The Directory Accident
After having taken the summer off from updating the website to work on the next book, I was excited to be almost ready to announce country specific listing of childbirth professionals. I had been working to created listings by region on separate pages for Australia, Canada and the UK so they would be as easy to search as the US is. Instead, I need to report about a not-so-little accident.
I'm very sorry to say that the entire childbirth educator section of the directory has been wiped out. When I say wiped out, I mean totally obliterated. Although the hosting service I use keeps regularly scheduled backups of all websites, the timing of the delete was exactly perfect for having no backup on record. I do not keep a copy of listed sites other than on the webpages, and I never keep email addresses from those who submit sites, so rebuilding the extensive listings is going to take considerable amounts of time in searching the web.
I've had my cry and am ready to begin the months of work rebuilding the directory will take. I even have a positive attitude about it - since the intensive researching of sites I will be doing has the potential to find many sites that were never listed.
I am eternally grateful to Google, whose cached pages were used to rebuild the childbirth educator directory. However, the pages are no longer current. Please take a few minutes to check the directory to make sure your site is listed, and if it isn't, please resubmit it. Thank you for your understanding.
